Another present from softball

The Thursday before last I was playing softball with my friend's team. The other team decided to hit me in the face with the ball! It didn't hurt all that much, but boy did it give me a serious swollen eye. It got even worse than in these pictures. At the time, Lauren's wedding was two weeks away. Mom banned me from sports until after the wedding. I'm bad, and don't listen, so I played again just this last Thursday. But, I at least warned her I was playing. And I was good and only played catcher so that I wouldn't get hurt. In slow pitch softball, the catcher is where you put the crappiest person on the team. So yeah, there was no action for me to hurt myself with!

Hey, it looks like I'll actually be normal for this wedding, and not in a cast and sling and what not like for Stephy's wedding!

This is why I love my sister...

Adrianne absolutely cracks me up. I get the most random texts from her almost daily and they just make me laugh so hard.

This is from the other day:

"Today's the day that these stupid americans will finally accept my blood...i can feel it!!"
To which I responded with laughing and that I thought they would never take our blood.
"I'm going to convince them today, it's my day!"
35 minutes later: "Today was not the day, it will never happen. I quit trying to save lives starting today."
About 4 hours later that night: "I drove to campus and walked home...stupid blood people, they ruined my whole day."

Randomly this morning:

"My ocd is really bad today, I just cleaned all the cabinets in the kitchen and reorganized everything..."
The best part about this is that she just did this last weekend.

Ohhh, AD...

Bear Mountain Ranch

August was a Crittenden family reunion. My cousins Steph, Spencer, and Kelli all come to Utah with their families. So we all went and stayed up at Uncle Gary and Aunt Cathy's place at Wolf Creek. I helped a lot with the 8 grandchildren that were running around. It was so much fun, and I'm glad they let me crash the party for two weeks. Our activities included:

Swimming.

Horse riding.

Four-wheeling.

Playing on the playground.

Playing in the gym.

Eating chocolate chip cookies.

Roasting s'mores.

Playing maid to the gimp. Marcus decided to break his leg by running into a tree on the four-wheeler.

Jumping on the trampoline.

A belated celebration of Lincoln's birthday.

Cathy and Gary had a photographer come to take their family photos. At the same time I took Marcus and Steph's camera and took my own pictures. Heck, why hire a professional photographer?! :)

Quarter of a Century

I'm now 25. I don't feel any older. I still feel like the kid I normally act like! My birthday was an absolute blast. The day before, Aunt Cathy took me and a few of my friends out to Tepanyaki for dinner.

My birthday I spent at Auntie Cal's house. She made me some amazing brownies!

The day after my birthday, Jeanine came to visit and we went out and partied some more. I love all these wonderful people I always get to hang out with.

4th of July party at the Gier's

A bunch of families from the ward went over to the Gier's on the Fourth.
We participated in their annual 4th of July Olympics. Events included:

Relay races.

Giant Twister.

Jump or Dive.

Watermelon seed spitting contest.

Tug of War.

RED TEAM DOMINATED!!

Extreme tubing

My family is pretty hardcore! We LOVE tubing. And tubing is not fun unless you have multiple tubes and tons of people. We are brutal. We beat each other up and wipe out hard. We are ALWAYS sore after tubing. Yes...we wear gloves, and braces on our elbows and knees. If you don't, your skin is rubbed raw.

My vacation back home

I went home for the 4th of July. I was only supposed to be there a week, but Mom didn't want me to leave, so I stayed for 2 weeks. I love the fact that I have a flexible job and I was able to do that. As usual, the Christie family drove up from Houston to visit. It was a very fun-filled two weeks!

I will always be white with Alli as my sister.

Here's what we did:

Went on walks with the dogs. However, Chuck walks himself.

Camped out on the driveway with snacks to watch the fireflies.

Played lots and lots of games, while simultaneously eating junk food.

Created the usual mess upstairs with 8 kids living up there.

Went to Frontier City.
...and got really wet.

Swam every day.

Attempted to escape from the heat.

Went to Pops on Route 66.

And, of course, hit up the lake!
